Appts. for positioning and joining, esp. welding of spirally bend tubes to form a cylindrical component, using an assembly core corresp. to the internal contour of the component for bundling the tubes, at one end of which the front tube ends are held and the other end being provided with a rotatable tensioning disc connected with the rear tube ends for tensioning the tubes. The tension disc mounted rear tube ends are axially adjustable and the tensioning disc is rotatable relative to the assembly core to take up tube length in accordance with the progressive weld - joining of the tube bundle. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for the mfr. of parts comprised of spirally bent tube bundles joined by welding, e.g. liq.-cooled rocket combustion chambers esp. of cylindrical form, and ensures that weld shrinkage induced gaps between tubes are effectively closed. |
