PURPOSE:To obtain a detergent excellent in detergency against protein dirt, particularly water-insoluble protein dirt at collars and sleeves by incorporating a specific alkaline protease in the detergent. CONSTITUTION:One 1kg of a detergent composition (e.g. weakly alkaline powdery detergent for clothes) is blended with 0.1-6,000 P.U. of an alkaline protease produced by Bacillus sp. KSM-K16 or K14, which has an optimum pH of 10.0-12.5 (casein substrate; reacted at 40 deg.C for 10min), an optimum temperature of 50-60 deg.C (casein substrate; reacted at pH10.0 in the absence of Ca<2+> ions) and decomposition activity of 40KFU/APU or more for human keratinus fiber. |
