Mold for the manufacture of plastic cups including an auxiliary punch with an associated annular piston which, with its lower clamp and sealing surface, clamps a pre-heated plastic foil/sheet over an annular area the inner perimeter of which is exactly defined by the circumference of the auxiliary punch. Now the plastic foil is no longer clamped only on the perimeter of the overall mold using O-ring seals, but instead, each auxiliary punch has its own respective annular piston, which clamps the foil with its lower clamping and sealing area around the circumference of the auxiliary punch for the corresponding individual die.
