The machine tool has a spindle housing (2) to which the workpiece (1) is clamped by sliding jaws (5). A grinding unit (3) and a short stroke honing unit (4) are mounted on a slide (8) which can move both units in the radial direction relative to the spindle. The grinding unit (3) is equipped with a grinding wheel (6) and the honing unit is equipped with a honing tool (7). Both units can be moved axially relative to the workpiece (1). The workpiece can thus be ground and honed on one machine. USE/ADVANTAGE - Grinding and honing of workpieces. The two operations can be carried out in sequence at a single setting of the workpiece.
