PURPOSE:To obtain true abosolute azimuth data always stably with accuracy without being influenced by disturbance and the like regarding an azimuth detecting device used especially for an on-vehicle navigation system. CONSTITUTION:An azimuth detecting device 100 is provided with a first azimuth detecting means 101 for outputting first absolute azimuth data thetaM; a second azimuth detecting means 102, provided with a relative azimuth sensor SR, for outputting second absolute azimuth data thetaJ; and a position measuring arithmwtic means 103 for computing-outputting the true absolute azimuth data thetaTn from the first and second adsolute azimuth data thetam, thetaJ. The position measuring arithmetic means 103 is further provided with an azimuth computing means 104 for computing-outputting the true absolute azimuth data thetaJn always using the first absolute azimuth data thetaMn (n: 1, 2,...) and the second absolute azimuth data thetaJn (n: 1, 2,...). |
