PURPOSE:To facilitate the connecting work with an external cable by adapting a crimp-style terminal in the connecting part with the external cable. CONSTITUTION:A modular insert 2 to be connected to a modular plug is received in a case 1. The modular insert 2 has a number of contact springs to be connected to the modular plug and a number of terminal pieces 33 electrically connected to the respective contact springs. Each terminal piece 33 has a crimpstyle slit 33 for breaking the insulating coat of a coated cable 4 at the time of press-fitting the coated cable 4 and electrically connecting the internal conductor of the coated cable 4 to the terminal piece 33.
