The proposal is for a lifting device for manually moving a load on a pivoting jib in which the inherent weight and load moments are reliably compensated by a counterweight and a pressure-operated fluid cylinder with the aid of an electronic-pneumatic control and regulating system for the momentarily necessary working pressure in the cylinder. The lifting device can be balanced sensitively and accurately with reference value transmitters with the aid of an electronic-pneumatic valve and an electronic processor coupled to a zero-point regulator and a slope controller as well as an electronic balance. The system is completed to form an ideal whole by the addition of various safety circuits to detect the actual load and movement situation.
