Inhibition of biogenic destruction of building materials - using -S-(2-amino-carbonyl)-phenyl:thiosulphate of fatty(12-14C) alkyl di:methyl-benzyl ammonia or of benzyl-dodecyl-bis(hydroxyethyl) ammonia

A prepn. for inhibiting the biogenic H2SO4 corrosion of building materials contains the fatty (12-14C) alkyl(dimethyl benzylammonium -S-(2-amino- carbonyl) -phenyl) -thiosulphuric acid salt (I) and/or the benzyldodecyl bis(hydroxyethyl)ammonium -S-(2-aminocarbonyl) -phenyl) -thiosulphuric acid salt (II) in an amt. of upto 30 wt.%., in combination with liquid or solid carrier. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) and (II) inhibit the biogenic destruction of building materials (eg. stone and concrete) and are biocides. No organic solvents or inert carrier need be used with (I) or (II). Aq. solns. or (I) and (II) penetrate deep into the surface of the building materials and fix the active ingredients there. The optimium activity of (I) and (II) is under slightly acidic conditions, and the acitivity only starts when the growth of the bacteria which form the acids begins. Thus only small amts. of active ingredients need be used
