<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an integration-type magnetic field sensor for performing measurement of a magnetic field or that of a current through the magnetic field by utilizing a magnetic optical effect. CONSTITUTION:A waveguide layer 2 which has a birefringence and shows a magnetic optical effect, a buffer layer 3, and a clad layer 4 are laminated on a substrate 1 and the refractive index is prescribed to a constant relationship, thus enabling a difference neffz between a TM mode and a TE mode to be close to 0 and at the same time a difference alpha between the TM mode and the TE mode of an attenuation coefficient alpha according to the clad layer 4 to be increased.</p> |
