PURPOSE:To provide an oil filter which does not suffer from reduction of an oil intake amount in response to the intake resistance of an oil pump and can prevent the durability drop of the oil pump in response to the rapid load increase and can maintain a sealing ability between said oil filter and a clutch housing by a simple constitution, in case of generation of a clogging phenomenon on an oil filter for the oil for cooling a clutch disc. CONSTITUTION:An oil strainer 23 provided with a filter surface 25 in a horizontal direction and a filter surface 27 in a vertical direction is installed in an oil pan 1a. A seal material 31 whose circumferential part is brought in elastic contact with the side wall of the oil pan 1a and which is composed of an elastic body in which a slit part is formed, is fitted and fixed to the upper edge part of this oil strainer 23. A wet type clutch in which a space part alpha is formed between the upper edge part of said seal material 31 and a clutch housing 1 in order to pour an oil R into the oil pan 1a directly in case of the clogging of the filter surfaces 25, 27 is formed in an oil fitter construction.
