PURPOSE:To provide an angiotensin I converting enzyme--inhibitory peptide available at a low cost with hardly any side effects and a suitable method for producing the peptide. CONSTITUTION:The tripeptide is an angiotensin I converting enzyme-inhibitory peptide, having a structure of Asp-Ile-Lys and produced by separating and purifying the peptide from an extract solution obtained from viscera and muscles of fishes and shellfishes or a chemical synthetic method by using Fmoc-aspartic acid, Fmoc-isoleucine and Fmoc-lysine. Since the Asp-Ile-Lys has angiotensin I converting enzyme-inhibitory ability, the blood pressure is reduced. |
