3-Oxygermylpropionic acid compressed compositon and its use against cytopathogenic substances.

Pharmaceutical compositions are prepared by compression-molding at high pressure of 500-2000 kg/cm<2> 3-oxygermylpropionic acid (3-OGP) (1-10 wt%) and at least two substances of low molecular weight, of up to 1000, highly soluble in water, e.g. sucrose, sorbitol, fructose, glucose, mannitol or sodium chloride (80% or more), usually with small amounts of binders, e.g. polymeric substances, to form tablets; the composition can be also used as troches, pills and suppositories. Other drugs, e.g. antipyretics, antiphlogistics and lenitives, can be included. In the compositions the effect of the 3-OGP is improved; they are useful against cytopathogenic substances, e.g. in treating hepatitis or nephritis, and usable to treat persons subjected to toxins.
