The pressure vessel is in the form of a cylinder with the base and head dome shaped. The vessel wall is of a sandwich construction. The outer layer is made of prestressed ring beams and the inner layers are made of ring sections and metal sheeting. The ring sheet sections making up the inner portion of the vessel lie in a horizontal position and have a semicircular cross-section. The outer layer may be made of freshessed concrete. USE/ADVANTAGE - Large capacity pressure vessel for use with power generation to meet peak loading.
