Mfr. of half shells for plain bearings - by first pressing to shape and then pressing half shell into calibrating die
摘要
Each half shell plain bearing is made from an initially flat strip which is pressed to a semi-circular form (8) by a suitably shaped punch (3) which co-operates with a die (4) of corresponding shape. The semi-circular shell (8) is then finished to the exact dimension by forcing it through a second die (2). The second die is formed from two parts (9,10) which are so shaped that when they are fitted together a semi-circular slot (11) is formed between them. When the half shell (8) is forced into this slot by the slider (6) it is pressed to the required final dimensions. USE/ADVANTAGE - Mfr. of plain bearing shells. The two-stage process ensures that the half shell is produced to the exact.
