PURPOSE:To provide the video signal processing unit in which an anti-piracy (pilot) signal causing difficulty to illegal dubbing is superimposed onto a video signal without causing any practical deterioration in a reproduced picture on a monitor. CONSTITUTION:A signal superimposing circuit 2 superimposes a pilot signal generated by a pilot signal generating circuit 3 onto a video signal outputted from a software video signal generator 1 and a recorder 4 is used to record the resulting signal onto a video tape. The pilot signal is in the relation of frequency interleave with a frequency fH and has a pilot frequency fP having a frequency within a band of the section and an amplitude not actually causing deterioration in picture quality in the reproduced video image and is superimposed intermittently onto each of plural fields. The amplitude of the pilot signal is increased by superimposing the pilot signal onto the video signal intermittently for each of plural fields. Furthermore, a video recorder 6 is provided with a pilot signal detection circuit 61 to inhibit it that the video signal superimposed with the pilot signal is recorded by a recording processing circuit 63. |
