PURPOSE:To detect securely whether a storage battery is connected to a battery changer or not by connecting a reference power source to a heat sensitizing element, and detecting the voltage thereof through a temperature detecting wire. CONSTITUTION:At the time of stating the charge, voltage of a reference power source 8 is given to a thermistor 2 through a connecting wire 15, and is lowered by the current flowing in the thermistor 2. A transistor 6 is turned on, and a light emitting diode 10 emits the light. Next, when a microcomputer 9 cut the conduction of the transistor 6, and perform the tricle charge through a constant current circuit 7. When a storage battery 1 which has finished charging is removed from a battery charger 4, the current is not flowed to the thermistor 2, and the reference voltage is applied to the microcomputer 9 through a temperature detecting wire 13 to judge no-existence of the connection of the accumulator. Presence or absence of the connection of the storage battery is thereby judged securely by detecting electric potential of the reference voltage.
