PURPOSE:To provide base paper for thermal recording paper having higher smoothness and excellent recording property after coating of thermal color in order to cope particularly with high speed recording since various properties are required in the thermal recording paper with recent rapid progress in office automation. CONSTITUTION:In manufacturing a base paper for thermal recording paper, slight heating steam is given to the surface of a paper with low pressure so as to add moisture and heat immediately before calendering treatment. Thereafter, it is treated with soft calendering within range of 100-150 deg.C so as to obtain a base paper for thermal recording paper having high quality. Thus, when the base paper for thermal recording paper is to be finished with a predetermined static smoothness, a base paper for thermal recording paper having high dynamic smoothness, excellent stickiness to a thermal head, and exceedingly excellent recording property (dynamic coloring property, dot reproducibility) after coating of thermal color can be manufactured. |
