PURPOSE:To provide a generator apparatus having low facility and operation costs, and excellent output/frequency characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A generator apparatus is composed of an AC generator 1 in which the generation frequency is varied according to an operating condition of an electric car 6, a reservoir battery 2 parallel to the generator 1, and frequency change detecting means (not shown in the figure). Further, the battery 2 is composed of an AC transformer 21, a bidirectional power conversion device 22 and a storage battery 23. The conversion device 22 is formed by connecting an inverter 221 and a conversion device 222 in parallel with one another, and turned ON, OFF in response to high or low generation frequencies of the generator 1, detected by the detecting means. Thus, in the case of an overload, discharge power from the battery 2 is supplied to a power bus 3 together with the output of the generator 1, and in the case of an abnormally light load, power of the bus 3 is charged in the battery 2. Accordingly, variation in the generating frequency is sequentially corrected. When the generation frequency falls within an allowable range, only the generator 1 is operated. |
