PURPOSE:To give a driver more useful map information at all times. CONSTITUTION:A function memory 17 is stored with a specific function which is a function indicating the component ratio of a wide-range display vector consisting of a destination-directional component and a travel-directional component to a vehicle position-destination distance along a guidance path and so determined as to increase in the ratio of the destination-directional component as the vehicle position-destination distance along the guidance path decreases, and a wide-range display vector calculation part 18 finds the wide-range display vector by referring to the function stored in the function memory 17 and guidance path data stored in a guidance path memory 16 according to the position and azimuth of a vehicle. A display center point calculation part 19 and a map drawing control part 13 display a vehicle position mark overlapped on a map image on a screen according to map data so that a wide range is obtained on the screen in the direction indicated by the wide-range display vector about the vehicle position. |
