The support and grip (1) which encloses the hose has two spaced concentric discs (2) each with an active support face (12-15) set at an angle (alpha) to the axis of symmetry (L). A spring ring (17) is fitted between these faces (12-15) and a holding sleeve (18) holds the support and grip element together. The force which is stored in the spring ring by tightening up the tightening screw presses as a reaction force axially onto the flange via the active faces of the two discs of the grip and support element whereby plastics deformation occurs in the flange. With time, the deformation forces in the flange decrease until the elastic state of the flange is again reached. At this point the grip and support element presses the flange. ADVANTAGE - The flange is permanently sealed against a structural element.
