Compounds of the formula <IMAGE> in which R1 independently is H or alkyl of 1 to 29 carbons, CO-R2, CO-O-R2, CO-NH-R2, or PO(OR2)2 or PO(OR2)R2, where R2 independently is H, alkyl of 1 to 20 carbons, phenyl, or lower alkyl substituted phenyl or halogen substituted phenyl; A is (CH2)n where n ranges between 0 to 30, or A is a a divalent branch chained alkyl radical, or cycloalkyl radical, having a total of 3 to 30 carbons; R3 independently is an alkyl group having 4 to 20 carbons, and X is O or NH, have anti-inflammatory activity.
