PURPOSE:To prevent the temperature of a heat source from abnormally rising owing to the fault of a driving element and the fault of driving signal system and to secure safely even if a safety device such as a thermometal cut-out should not be actuated by cutting out the current supply source for driving the heat source. CONSTITUTION:An image forming device having a heat source driving means is provided with a control means for controlling the driving state of the heat source, a counting means for counting the energize/nonenergize time for driving the heat source in a specified time in order to control the temperature of the heat source to be a specified value, a storing means for storing the energize/ nonenergize time previously counted, and a comparing means for comparing a numerical value obtained by counting with a numerical value stored by the storing means, and abnormality in the case of driving the heat source is detected based on the compared result. |
