PURPOSE:To improve a positional accuracy of mounting a photoelectric converter on a pedestal of a package without damaging a light receiving surface and to reduce in size the package by holding a side of a board in which the converter is formed. CONSTITUTION:Boards 101, 102 in which photoelectric converters are formed, are respectively mounted on pedestals 105, 106. The boards 101, 102 of this case are held by a method for grasping the sides of the boards 101, 102 by forceps-like jigs 103, 104. Thus, a light receiving surface is not damaged at all, and the converter is not destroyed. Further, it is not necessary to form a region for holding the surface of the board, and a package can be reduced in size. The mounting accuracy is determined only by an accuracy at the time of aligning and hence extremely enhanced. |
