PURPOSE:To improve the visual angle characteristic of a TN type liquid crystal display element. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal twist angle of the TN type liquid crystal display element is set to 70-88 deg.C and the retardation of a cell is set to 0.30-0.38mum. Thus, the twist angle is decreased, the arrangement position of a polarizing plate is shifted from a conventional position to 0-10 deg., and no chiral dopant is added. Consequently, the liquid crystal display element having the superior visual angle characteristic can be offered. |
