BRAZING METHOD FOR BERYLIUM AND ALUMINUM

PURPOSE:To furnish the method to braze two members of berylium and aluminum which are hardly joinable materials by the established brazing method of aluminum in the past. CONSTITUTION:The tip part of a berylium pipe 1 is immersed in molten aluminum above 700 deg.C in a vacuum and a high-temperature coating layer 2 of aluminum is applied thereon. The tip part coated with the high-temperature coating layer 2 of aluminum of the berylium pipe 1 and the tip parts of aluminum pipes 4a and 4b are then brazed and joined together by the vacuum brazing method by using aluminum-based brazing filler metal 5 at 600 deg.C in a vacuum.
