The gas detector has analogue and/or digital electrical evaluation and control electronics for the sensor's heater and/or sensor resistances. The housing is divided into at least two separate chambers, one contg. the sensors. Another chamber contains the electronics. The measurement gas is passed through the sensor chamber. The separating wall (12) dividing the housing into chambers rests on the carrier plate (38) or electrical lead-throughs of the evaluation circuit via rubber seals (37). ADVANTAGE - Evaluation and control electronics are mounted separately from but close to sensors.
