PURPOSE:To provide a magnesia-spinel brick improved in high temperature strength, particularly in hot bending strength, and excellent in spalling resistance. CONSTITUTION:The spinel bond in a matrix part is developed by adding a metallic iron powder of <=44mum grain size by 1-4wt.%, or an ultra-fine Al2O3 powder of <=10mum grain size by 1-5wt.% in 100% of a refractory filler consisting of 50-95wt.% of MgO clinker and 5-50wt.% of MgO-Al2O3 spinel clinker, by which the magnesia-spinel brick improved in hot bending strength and excellent in spalling resistance can be obtained. |
