PURPOSE:To provide a recording medium having sufficient temperature width of crystallizing temperature and melting point, excellent in writing and deleting properties. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a composition shown by a general formula ZaXbAIc, where the Z represents one kind or two kinds of metallic elements selected from Zr, Hf; the X represents one kind or two kinds or more of metallic elements selected from Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu; and the (a), (b), (c) represent 45<=a<=80, 5%hb<=55, 0<c<=30 in atomic percent. Phase change of amorphous substance and crystalline substance is performed by laser heating, and there is provided a recording layer consisting of recording material capable of recording and deletion. |
