PURPOSE: To ensure high stabilization of a product by adding a compound which satisfies the particular formula in the dye-donor element and/or the receiving element in order to stabilize a material for use in a thermal dye transfer imaging process. CONSTITUTION: Thermal dye transfer diffusion processes, which have been developed to make prints from pictures that have been generated electronically by means of a color video camera or the like, uses a recording material provided with layers consisting of the dye-donor element and/or the receiving element, on a thin support normally coated with an adhesive or subbing layer on both sides. In this case, a compound satisfying the formula A-X is contained in the dye-donor element and/or the receiving element. In the formula, (A) stands for acyl, and (X) stands for the conjugated base of an acid with the formula pKa<=14. (A) also satisfies one of the formulae R-CO, R-SO2 -, or R1 R2 PO-, and the compound A-X is a cyclic or acyclic anhydride or a mixed anhydride. |
