A warp sizing installation has beams supplying a sheet of warp through a reed to a sizing vat. The yarn supply from each beam is tensioned through an oscillation damper. Pref. yarn selection from the supply beam is reversed around a roller (4) which is supported at the axle in a bracket (11) having a central pivot (13). This is balanced on the second bracket fixed to the frame (12). At one end (16) of the bracket arm (11) a spring (17) is stretched to the base (12). At the other end (14) a cylinder is connected. The cylinder (18) has a piston (19) with an open valve (21) and is filled with a high viscosity fluid (20), controlled at the regulator (22), so that a balance is obtained with the spring, to eradicate the inbalance and frequency oscillation which at certain stages of high speed winding may reach a pitch of resonance in the warp threads. ADVANTAGE - The supply of yarn from each beam is prevented from unwinding excessively at high speeds. Vibration and lack of stability would cause yarn breakages at the reed.
