PURPOSE: To make an equalizer applicable to space flight applications by allowing a change in a parameter of an active element to result in causing transition of an absorbing frequency and power, thereby correcting a gain/ frequency response within a prescribed temperature range. CONSTITUTION: This equalizer consists of a microwave coupler 10, coupled with two active elements 11, 12 connected in a series with a branch 13 of the coupler 10, coupled with a transmission line 14 and a control circuit 15. The coupler 10 is a quarterwave coupler, whose coupling length (l) is equal to 1/4 of a wavelengthλof a signal carried through the transmission line 14. The two active elements 11, 12 are varactor diodes or PIN diodes respectively controlled by, e.g. a voltage or a current. Further, in the case of the varactor diode, a change in a junction capacitance shifts the absorbing frequency and in the case of the PIN diode, the change in the junction resistance changes the absorbing frequency and power.
