PURPOSE:To ensure safety by surely preventing an insert from being damaged, when an air bag is inflated, while simplifying manufacture so as to be made possible to contribute to lightness in weight of an air bag device. CONSTITUTION:A pad is constituted of a soft synthetic resin-made pad main unit and an insert 14 buried in this pad main unit and formed of a synthetic resin-made plate material having a shape holding property. The insert 14 is constituted of almost a quadrangular tube-shaped base part 16 and two sheets of opening parts 18A, 18B integrally connected through hinge parts 17A, 17B in an opposed upper end edge of the base part 16. Circular through holes 23, 24 are formed in both end parts of the hinge parts 17A, 17B. |
