摘要 A method of fixing an optical image sensor in alignment with the image plane of a lens assembly comprises the steps of: fixing the sensor on a member, a plurality of pairs of intercalating surface being provided on the member and associated with the lens assembly respectively, one of each pair of surfaces being present on a pin or like elongate structure. The member is held in a jig which is operative to move a member along at least three orthogonal axes. The sensor is connected to a display means and an image is projected through the lens assembly for receipt by the image sensor. The respective surfaces of each pair are introduced together, and the jig is operated so as to move the member relative to the lens assembly and thereby move the pairs of surfaces relative to one another until the image received by the sensor is optimised. Each pair of surfaces are then fixed together where they lie adjacent one another, e.g. by soldering or by adhesive, and the sensor is then disconnected from the display means and the jig is removed from the member. The invention also includes a lens assembly having an optical image sensor in attachment.
