<p>PURPOSE:To minimize the power consumption of a controller which controls peripheral devices. CONSTITUTION:A main control circuit 13 monitors the access given to the I/O register 5a of a controller 5 from a CPU 2. The power supply of the controller 5 is interrupted when the access of the CPU 2 is interrupted for a fixed period. Thus the waste of the power is suppressed. In addition, the erasion of the control data due to the interruption of supply of the power can be recovered with the transfer of the control data written in a back-up memory 14 for the controller 5 after the supply of power to the controller 5 when the CPU 2 has an access again to the controller 5.</p> |
