PURPOSE:To more improve the quality of digital color pictures by removing a noise component by using the most effective method at every picture. CONSTITUTION:Prior to removing a noise component, the size of a noise discriminating area and the pattern of a noise component signal are respectively set by means of an area setting section 13 and noise pattern setting section 14. The setting can be performed arbitrarily and the object from which the noise component signal to be removed can be limited to a specific color component. Therefore, the noise component which is considered to be contained most abundantly is decided in the picture to be processed and the color component which is considered to be most effective is selected and smoothed. |
