<p>A variable contouring foil for use in a fluid environment has a rigid internal spar and a dimensionally stable flexible outer skin. The internal spar is located adjacent the leading edge of the foil and extends towards the tip and trailing edge of the foil. The spar terminates a sufficient distance from the tip of the trailing edge to allow the trailing edge to twist in response to transient pressures induced by fluid flow along the surface of the foil.</p> |
