PURPOSE:To enable a vehicle to be guided along a route to a desired goal, even if the place of the goal is unknown. CONSTITUTION:The positional data of one or more goals is preliminarily stored in a map data (CD-ROM) 1, and a desired goal is selected via the operation of a control panel 2. Then, a menu display/selection section 19 outputs goal data to a guidance route search section 16, and this section 16 refers to map data in the CD-ROM 1 for retrieving the positional data of the desired goal existing near a vehicle. Also, the section 16 searches an optimum guidance route from the vehicle to the desired goal, and causes the second guidance route memory 18 to save the searched route. Furthermore, a route guidance image drawing control section 21 refers to the guidance route data saved in the memory 18, and performs the predetermined control of route guidance image display, according to the change of a vehicle position. |
