PURPOSE:To offer a color printer capable of obtaining an excellent image by producing plural toner images of different color on arc intermediate transfer body without having color slippage. CONSTITUTION:The outer peripheral length of the intermediate transfer body 24 is constituted so that the number of BDT signals obtained while the intermediate transfer body 24 is rotated once, is the integral multiple of the number of the surfaces of a rotary polygon mirror 1, a passage detecting means 37 detecting the passage of the specific position mark of a photosensitive body 4 is provided in a prescribed location with respect to the photosensitive body 4, and an image data request signal generating means controlling the generating timing of an image data request signal to form the toner image based on a passage detecting signal obtained from the passage detecting means 37 is provided. When the intermediate transfer body 24 is rotated once, the rotary polygon mirror 13 is rotated integral times, as well, so that a scanning line in a raster direction, written based on the BDT signal after the intermediate transfer body 24 is rotated once, is returned and superimposed on the scanning line written based on the first BDT signal, to obtain accurate positioning. |
