PURPOSE:To prevent the thickness of a wrap fully wound up on a spool from varying due to pressure upon stopping, by providing such an arrangement that a wrap is cut while the wrap fully wound up on the spool is released, subsequently to stopping of the full spool on the machine frame of a wrap machine, and the subsequent exchange of spools is continued or ceased in dependence upon the presence of a signal indicative of completion of preparations for the change of spools after releasing of the wrap. CONSTITUTION:A wrap winding section 11 which is installed on the front section of a machine frame of a wrap machine, is provided with left and right wrap plate 3A, 3B which are raised and lowered by a pressing device 6 actuated by air cylinders 5A, 5B along the end sections of a pair of wrap drums 2A, 2B and between the latter and which are slid axially by means of an opening and closing device (which is not shown) actuated by an air cylinder. A wrap 12 which is fed through a calender roller 11, is wound up onto an empty spool 9 held between both plates 3A, 3B. In this arrangement, after completion of formation of a full wind-up wrap 10 on a spool, when the wrap is to be severed while the full wind-up wrap 10 is released, a control is made such that the subsequent change of spools is continued or ceased in dependence upon the presence of a signal indicative of completion of preparations of change of spools. |
