PURPOSE:To drive a stepping motor with two characteristics of a bipolar drive with the priority on efficiency and a unipolar drive with the priority on torque in a circuit having a simple configuration. CONSTITUTION:In a two-phase stepping motor drive circuit, the second switching element 5 is connected between the power source and an intermediate tap of unipolar windings 11 and 21, and terminals other than the intermediate tap are connected to two sets of bridge circuits comprising the first switching elements 1 to 4 and 12 to 15. And the second switching element 5 is turned off and a bipolar drive is turned on, by which unipolar drive is performed. |
