PURPOSE:To obtain a semiconductive layer of a power cable in which a contacting copper tape will not cause discoloration and corrosion. CONSTITUTION:A composition composed of (a) a resin component such as ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer or styrene graft ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, (b) electrically conductive carbon black and (c) a crosslinking agent such as an organic peroxide is crosslinked to form a semiconductive layer of a power cable. In the process, the composition is heated at <=280 deg.C maximum temperature. Thereby, the liberation of acetic acid from the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer can be suppressed to prevent a copper tape from discoloring and corroding. |
