ANTISTATIC FLUORORESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. which gives a white molded article by compounding a fine polytetrafluoroethylene powder with an aciculer conductive titanium oxide. CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. comprises a fine polytetrafluroethylene powder and an acicular conductive titanium oxide. A minute amt. (1-2wt.%) of the oxide can be replaced by a spherical titanium oxide without detriment to the volume resistivity, thus enabling the effective utilizaton of the spherical one which is relatively cheap. The acicular oxide prepd. by forming a conductive layer comprising tin (IV) oxide and antimony trioxide on the surface of titanium oxide is pref. The polyethylene powder is prepd., e. g. from a TFE homopolymer or a copolymer of TFE with up to 2wt.% olefin.
