PURPOSE:To achieve a scanning property in a linear direction of an ultrasonic probe by making action thereof smooth in a direction linear to a housing holding an ultrasonic vibrator unit. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic probe 1 has a flexible sheath 2 transmitting ultrasonic waves sealed inside and an ultrasonic transmission medium 5 such as fluid paraffin is sealed up in about an amount as to immerse at least the whole of a housing 4 in which an ultrasonic vibrator unit 24 radiating an ultrasonic wave is built and held. Then, an outer diameter surface of the housing 4 is made approach an inner diameter surface of a sheath 2 slidably. On the other hand, the housing 4 is cut off longitudinally on the side opposite to an ultrasonic wave radiation surface thereof to form a passage 25 so that the ultrasonic transmission medium 5 can flow longitudinally along the length of the housing 4. In the moving of the housing 4 in an axial direction of the sheath 2, the ultrasonic transmission medium 5 flows in a longitudinal direction of the housing 4 passing through the passage 25 and the housing 4 moves smoothly to obtain an excellent linear scanning property. |
