<p>An electronic controller (7) receives a signal from a moisture sensor (6) which indicates the amount of moisture that has accumulated on the windscreen (1) since the last wiping action of the blade (2). The controller (7) receives or retains information which indicates the rate or delay of wiping action as is currently set. The motor controller (4) is then signalled so as to retain the current wiping rate, or alternatively determine, as a future wiping rate for the next wiping action. The future wiping rate is determined on the basis of the signal from the sensor (6), the current wiping rate and programmed criteria.</p> |
