PURPOSE: To provide a method which uses a histogram as a segmentation means to perform automatic segmentation of an image. CONSTITUTION: A step where a histogram curve where a number Y of objects of a digital image I0 is accumulated is constituted is provided, and this histogram is prescribed as a function to each gray level X accompanied with the number of objects included in binary objects which are obtained by providing the image I0 to thresholds SN, SN-1 , SN-2 ... in the gray level. A step where a segmentation threshold is automatically determined based on the histogram is included. |
