PURPOSE:To finish the profile of output image smoothly through an inexpensive constitution. CONSTITUTION:A memory section 17 stores a plurality of lines of input image data having first recording density in the unit of main scanning and refers an image data corresponding to an interesting pixel or peripheral pixels thereof to the inputted image data and previously stored image data. A smoothing section 18 then converts the image data corresponding to the interesting pixel into an image data (VDO) having second recording density, in which the recording density in main scanning direction is higher than the first recording density and the occupancy of black dot is identical, based on the reference results. |
