PURPOSE:To enable the stable images to be formed without generating an electric resistance change by providing a high-polymer layer contg. a water-soluble high polymer selected from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyacrylic acid, etc., on a conductive elastic layer. CONSTITUTION:Many layers are laminated on a conductive base body and the high-polymer layer 3 contg. the water-soluble high polymer selected from the PVA, polyacrylic acid, polymethacrylic acid, polyethylene imine, and starch is provided on the conductive elastic layer. The volumetric electric resistivity of this high-polymer layer 3 is preferably in a 16<6> to 10<12>OMEGA.cm range and the volumetric electric resistivity of the high-polymer layer 3 is preferably larger than the volumetric electric resistivity of the lower layer 2 in contact with the high-polymer layer 3. Then, the high-grade images which are free from the generation of the dotty fogging by the nonuniformity of electrification, the image defects by the discharge insulation breakdown of a photosensitive body, etc., are stably supplied. |
