PURPOSE:To prevent hot air from being drawn into a cage from the elevator boarding place. CONSTITUTION:In a ventilating device for an elevator, there are provided a door opening detecting means 6 to detect door opening of an elevator and switching circuits 61-64 to switch the direction of rotation of a ventilating fan 2 for air intake/exhaust in the case when this door opening detecting means 6 has detected the door opening.
