Cutting table for clothing - has needles roller to ensure stack of fabric moves easily from conveyor to table

Cutting table as used in the clothing trade consists of a stack formation and transport conveyor in front of the cutting table. Suction is provided as the stack is drawn forward by means of a needled roller which protrudes through the commencement of the cutting table. The stack of fabric is pref. built up in layers upon a paper base which rests on the bristles (3) of the conveyor belt (4). The pattern is laid on top of the stack. The front edge of the cutting table (1) has an insert consisting of a roller or cylinder with sprailly arranged needles which protrude through a gap in the table. This permits suction to pass through the stack from the vacuum box (5). ADVANTAGE - The stack can be handled by a reduced number of operatives. The base paper need not be perforated as the roller will permit air to pass, thus retaining the stack in position, with the pattern paper on top, ready for cutting.
