MOTION FACTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT

摘要

The circuit detects the vertical and horizontal edge exactly and controls the motion factor according to detected edges to improve picture quality of high definition digital television. The circuit comprises a horizontal edge deector (100) for detecting pure edge component from input complex video signal (VH) using a first and a second bandpass filter, a vertical edge detector (200) for detecting brightness signal using comb filter and low-pass filter, a first and a second absolute value operators (4,8) for detecting absolute value of output signal of the edge detectors, a comparator (300) for selecting larger absolute value, and a motion factor detector (400) for detecting motion factor using the selected absolute edge value and external frame difference signal.
